Over the past several weeks, I’ve been impressed (but not surprised) by the level of support our membership has provided especially in this time of change, as we come together to create a community that works better. We are all learning, flexing, adapting and responding.
Our Chapter Board has been discussing how we can best serve our membership and ensure your local ATD chapter membership continues to provide value while remaining an important resource for your professional development.
I’m excited to announce that our chapter will be offering the following new programming and benefits to our members:
NEW EXPANDED SCHEDULE OF VIRTUAL EVENTS
NEW virtual option to attend our Transforming Learning Events. We will start by broadcasting our Transforming Learning Sessions live from our corporate host locations (when they are held in person), allowing members and guests to attend these presentations in person, or remotely if they prefer. Our next Transforming Learning event is hosted by Dale Carnegie. Click HERE to register.
NEW members-only virtual networking events will bring together our powerful community of talent development professionals. These events will allow members meet and get to know each other on a personal and professional level – even when we can’t meet in person. This helps us tap into the real value of our chapter and will enable us to build stronger networks that enrich our community. Our first virtual networking event is scheduled for May 19th. NEW Coffee Talk virtual learning events, presented by chapter members and subject matter experts. These sessions are offered complimentary to members and will offer timely and relevant content based on challenges and trends within our industry. These can include topics related to the current environment, best practices for virtual training design, effective communication strategies, LinkedIn tools, and more.

BENEFITS TO MEMBERS IN TRANSITION:
This pandemic has created chaos and havoc and an unprecedented unemployment rate. We are committed to helping our members who find themselves suddenly in transition. To respond in support, we will be offering members in transition the following:
Six-month membership extensions for current members who are furloughed, laid off or in transition. Email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your request when it is time to renew and we’ll extend your membership.
A reduced new member rate for those in transition so that practitioners can continue to improve their craft while seeking long-term employment options, effective immediately.
A member highlight campaign, featuring MEMBERS in transition on our webpage and in our social media posts, directing people to view their LinkedIn profiles. If you would like to be featured, email a photo, 3 bulleted highlights, and the link to your LinkedIn profile to email@example.com.
Career transition webinars, helping you create your personal brand and tips on navigating transition. Look for announcements of these events in our LinkedIn post.
Pro-bono career transition coaching or consultation for members in transition. We are developing a give-back network to help match our members in transition with members who would be interested in offering pro-bono transition coaching to a member. If you are a member in transition or a coach interested in providing career transition coaching/consultation, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
