October Learning Lab

Engaging Learners Through Storytelling

This workshop will teach you how to use the art of storytelling to design learning experiences that engage, inspire and motivate. Participants will be introduced to tools and strategies to help you better understand your audience and what will motivate them. The program introduces storytelling methodology and shows you how to use it to build focus, target the most relevant content and introduces how to leverage Pathos, Ethos and Logos to engage and inspire learners.

Participants learn to:

  • Distill and communicate complex ideas
  • Talk about facts, statistics, and opinions in a way that makes your audience care
  • Use narrative forms to structure your presentation efficiently
  • Use contrast to hold people’s attention
  • Create an active call to adventure and call to action
  • Know your audience well enough to deliver value to them
  • Move people and persuade them, so they rally behind your idea
  • Identify key messages and streamline your presentation
  • Address risk, resistance, and reward in your audience
  • Create an executive summary
  • Create a balance of Pathos, Ethos and Logos
