Coaching Trends: What is My Role as Coach related to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion?

The topic of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and racial justice is being highlighted everywhere we look –from CEO and company pledges, to demonstrations and political activism, news headlines, books, articles, and podcasts – the list goes on and on.  Many want to grow in this area, but what will make the most difference?  What should I be focusing on in my growth as a coach/leader?  Join us to reflect on the current landscape of DEI development and generate ideas of what is possible.

What Works about Virtual Work: A Conversation about Lessons Learned with Industry Experts

People around the world found ways to work from home because we had to beginning in March of 2020. Organizations that had previously felt that remote work couldn't be done successfully found ways to stay connected to employees, vendors, and even customers through innovative thinking. Did everything we tried work? Of course not! Did resilient leaders take a step back, make strategic changes, and try again? Absolutely. In this panel discussion, we're going to hear from four industry leaders who pivoted their teams to remote work environments, made decisions, and learned how to be successful while remaining physically separated.

    October Coffee Talk

How to Engage Your Audience and Rethink Hiring (Using a Bike!)

In a world where everything is being done “virtually”, it is more important than ever to find new, creative and fun ways to engage with your audience. Far too often, presentations are boring and lack-luster leaving participants wishing the torture would end and drifting mindlessly away to other more interesting and relevant topics even during the presentation itself. But what if things were done differently? What if we could still capture the interest and imagination of our audience while presenting meaningful, powerful new concepts that would help participants gain new skills and understanding about your topic. That’s exactly what this session is all about – demonstrating how we can engage our audience while conveying an important and relevant new skill – and not
    losing their focus and attention.

In this session, our skill building will be focused on how to Hire and Onboard the Best Talent. And the presentation itself will demonstrate new methods for presenting, sharing and engaging your audience.

The primary learning objectives of this presentation include:

    • Re-think how to use interactive presentation tools and techniques for virtual learning.
    • Recognizing how visual metaphors are powerful models for teaching and memory hooks.
    • Understanding how a bike is a perfect metaphor for a business.
    • Exploring new methods for hiring and on-boarding employees during this challenging economy.
