About Us

As a part of the 70,000 member-strong Association for Talent Development (ATD), Greater Twin Cities Chapter (ATD-GTC) is one of the larger chapters in the United States. We are the go-to professional development resource for workplace learning and performance professionals in the Twin Cities.

Founded in 1958, we’ve been going strong for more than 50 years. Formerly known as ASTD – Southern Minnesota Chapter, our name change in 2002 reflects a focus on learning and development professionals in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.

Highlights of our chapter include:

  • An annual regional conference that draws over 300 participants, offering top quality keynote, breakout, and pre-conference workshops.
  • Monthly meetings with dynamic, nationally and internationally-known speakers like Bob Mosher, Josh Bersin and Allison Rossett which draw in 70-125 members and guests each month.
  • A monthly e-Newsletter, Spectrum, that features articles each month around a particular topic of interest to WLP professionals.
  • Social media connections and web-based learning opportunities.
  • Active Community of Practices (CoPs) that draw in members and guests alike for topics such as coaching, diversity, elearning, entrepreneurship, training, and much more.

ATD National

ATD-GTC is a chapter of the national ATD organization. While there are chapters in every state, ATD-GTC is proud that we are one of the Top 10 chapters in the nation. While local chapter membership offers opportunities to get involved in your business community, national membership helps you to connect to the learning community outside of the Greater Twin Cities. The cost for a national membership is additional to membership in ATD-GTC. Visit ATD's National Web site at for more information.

ATD-GTC Board meeting minutes and financial information is available to members upon request. If you would like to receive this information for the chapter, please request this at
